For Cape Winelab, Bika Wine 1.1.3 was  customised as integrated LIMS, corporate web-site and content management system - making it possible to not only shorten turnaround times through interfacing a Foss WineScan™ and delivering results to the web, per e-mail and automated fax, but also to prepare and publish laboratory documents to clients and personnel through the same web portal

By popular demand, this integration is likely to become Bika's default customisation policy, Plone's content management functions are too useful to be buried in the LIMS' underbelly - it provides excellent opportunity to manage the documentation required by modern laboratory regulation, and creates many possibilities such as on-line training, information on lab procedures for both client and lab technicians, instrument maintenance scheduling, etc.
